The earlier MK2 Cavalier was officially the most stolen car in the UK during the 80's
Mk3 wasn't much better for security although Vauxhall did try with dead locks etc, but they were still stolen in their thousands!
I've got a MK2 now and trust me......I take no risks with it, since my last one was.....you've guessed it.......stolen! :-(

@dan1981dan1981 Well thieves have tried to steal my 1993 cavalier twice in the past. The first time it wasn’t even locked and they couldn't get past the steering lock but broke it in the process, the second time they couldn’t open the door due to the dead locks, although they did bend the top of the door right out. If they did get past both of those things I doubt they could get past the immobilizer. Baring in mind my car is a completely standard LS model it’s pretty hard to get into.

@g0fvt There is nothing boring about Milton keynes it is the best place ever
-
@arshedhussainkadir So it can't do 140mph then. Theory falls apart a bit there. And that isn't law. It may be police regulations but doesn't make it law.

@TheFireOfInfernape Bollocks.
Milton Keynes is a few miles to the north of me, the roads are a grid pattern, whole place was built from nothing maybe 40 yrs ago. Place is so boring you either go to the cinema or get up to some illegal activity, sadly these kids had already seen the films...

Ahhh the Vauxhall Cavalier SRi, Such an easy car to rob! infact all Vauxhalls from that era were, all you needed was a flathead screwdriver to get in and start it and a bar to break the steering lock - That's why they were the car thief's car of choice.
