Looking at the kids record I think the cop did us a favor ... just sayin. Chances are the kid would have killed someone in a drunk driving accident at some point anyways. To that I say Thank you Detective.

You said it your self, the suspect drove at the officer, therefore endangering the officers life and justifying his use of deadly force. Driving a car at an officer is exaclty the same as shooting at him, assault with a deadly weapon. Also, the suspect should not have been looking for a way out in the first place, he should have stoped when ordered to do so by the officer.
