Powertrans 350tonne payload roadtrain hauling at a minesite in Western Australia. The vehicle has two engines one in the truck the other in one of the four trailers.

  • @Powertrans1 now if your a powertrans engineer, i have a technical question for ya, not being a smart arse i know there will be a reason why but my mates hydropede with bis, has the qsk 19 760hp and auto in the truck and qsk19 760hp and 18spd in the dolly on a trailer, he says there is lots of problems with the 18spd netralising and when coming down hill the weight on it will hold it from changing up effectively sticking in gear. why dont they just use an auto in the trailer?????

  • @ipdaily6 The hydropede (which we do not manufacture) has a very complicated control system and it also measures load at the kingpin of the dolly. I think that it gets some crazy signals and then selects neutral in the eaton transmission. In our powertrailer we use the same Allison transmission as the truck. This way everything is the same.
