This way of starting can be painful on a griptape board (you might wound your fingers; I have when I learned to wakeskate last summer). This way works better for me: get the boat in gear, but go slow. The water will push the board against your feet. Put the board under water with your feet, slightly tilted, and get in position like sitting in a chair. Play with the tilt angle until you feel the board wants to lift you up. Keep this angle, make the driver accelerate, and you'll stand up easily.

you dont get up like that

Why i get up i put the board flat on the water with my heels on the egde and when the boat starts to pull up then i push my heels down and tell the driver to go... just a suggestion
-
problem: boat too slow!
-
you might wanna try putting the heel of ur foot on the heel side edge of the board when in the water and then as the boat starts to tug u slide ur feet to a comfortable postion and from there on out its just keeping ur balance as u start to get up and its easy crusin from there lol
i found it to be easier like that and i can get up everytime and i havent really been able to do it more than four times only cuz its not my board i wakeboard so i have a wakeboard
-
i wakeboarded for a year or so and i tried a wakeskate, we found it was the easiest if you get your feet on the board sideways to the boat, then signal to put it into gear, the board holds to your feet, keep it in gear at bout 2 mp/h and when it slowly comes out of the water accelerate

you take off to slow...but a good laugh
-
lmao thanks for the laugh guys!!

The boat drives to slowly !!!!!!!

haha no wonder it wasnt working for ya. you had the board parallel to the boat.

yea i do wakeboard, this vid was the first time i'd been in the water with a wakeskate, i find it easy to be "trauled" along by the boat, it helps keep the board under your feet
