Folk music and civil-rights icon Pete Seeger brought his brand of straight-talking this-banjo-kills-fascists* political activism to "The Johnny Cash Show" on March 4, 1970. It's clear from this clip that Cash is the student and Seeger is the master as he and Cash rip through the Grand-Ole-Opry-friendly classic American singalong folk tune "Worried Man Blues."
* This has been edited by Mikerickson01 into a much better description: Pete Seeger's banjo surrounds hate and forces it to surrender.

If I may offer a correction.
That banjo does not kill fascists, as claimed in the original posting info.
Woodie Guthrie's guitar killed fascists.
Pete Seeger's banjo surrounds hate and forces it to surrender.

As far as I can tell, "Worried Man Blues" was first recorded in 1930, by the Carter Family -- which, of course, produced June Carter Cash.

What a great cut. Seeger and Cash were true timeless artists. It is stunning that the major TV networks had banned Seeger. At least now, we have YouTube to spread the love and the heartbreak.

I met Pete Seeger at a Folk Life festival in Seattle many years ago. He was so humble and down to earth, he shook my hand and thanked me for my "kind and generous compliments" on his music. I couldn't believe he actually stopped and spoke to me. It was magical

Don´t forget - Seeger was blacklistet coast to coast on the tv-stations, and it was Cash who had the courage to insist that he should be there.
