On October 1 2008 around 4PM, firefighters were dispatched to 107A Ave @ 138th St for an apt building on fire at the Quattro condo development site. First arriving units reported a 4 story building under construction fully involved and a 2nd alarm was requested followed shortly thereafter by the 3rd alarm. 40+ firefighters manning 11 rigs battled the blaze for several hours. At the fires peak, there was a serious concern of the site crane collapsing, but it still stands.
HOW COME IT HAPPEN?

THAT was a BIG fire. that buildign in front of the crane, ( the one they kept hitting with water on its roof, did it ever catch fire or was this a preventative measure?

i was there and watched this. i talked to a former co-worker that was working at that construction site that day; he said there was a fire set there 3 days earlier. very suspicious....

i used to live under 2 km from there, the power went out for "no reason" so I went outside and saw the smoke plume. My neighbour had driven a few blocks away from the fire and could feel the heat inside her car!
A few days later, I went to check out the area near where the fire had been, the siding of houses had melted. Several ruined cars etc. Seriously crazy fire.
