Vectra 1.9 CDTI 150. Dual Mass Flywheel is knackered. Normally more noisy than this on tickover, has the typical scraping noise, and makes a banging noise about twice a second.

The loud noise you hear when I'm in the car is when I depress and release the clutch slowly.

When I'm revving the engine you hear the scraping noise which is quite prominent when I'm driving along with the throttle fully up. Very embarrasing at traffic lights.

    Hope this helps others out.

  • @JEZ8543 Is that just parts?

  • can this car still move ?? my toyota altezza 3sge (has dual mass flywheel) has a noice similar to this but the car still has power and is driving normally bar the REALLY LOUD rattle :( hope its just the dual mass flywheel

  • @GMulheir1 Like I said I had the dmf replaced, when it was broken though the car was driving normally (apart from the gear changes being really choppy). Any mechanic who has dealt with flywheels in the past will be able to definitively tell you. Does the noise silence when you put your foot on the clutch?

  • @GMulheir1 btw a failed flywheel will seize your gearbox but take a look at this video: /watch?v=n5nfJdUDrKw
