  • Okay. Professional Tenor here. Vowel modification issues aside, this kid is making a hell of a sound. He looks, what, 20 or 22 maybe? If he stays healthy and sees a good coach for a couple of months, he'll be a powerhouse. As for the comments that he sounds like a baritone, that's a compliment for most tenors. By "baritone" sound, most people mean "uses chest resonance." That's something that all singers should strive for, and this guy is doing it at a relatively young age.

  • every valley is a continuation of comfort ye. comfort ye should be sang calmly, then every valley should be sang more strong.... this guy has good tones but he sang comfort ye very operatic. there should be a disction amongst the two arias. oh, and the word " accomplished" should be pronounced literally accomplished. its old english.....

  • Great voice; the minute mistakes will be ironed out by professionals and we'll have a fantastic tenor!! Keep it up, I applaud you!

  • I suspect this young man has a beautiful voice but he has to overcome fear of cracking, open the throat, release the tongue and let his natural tone shine.

  • Very nice overall sound (the acoustic of the church is wonderful) but I don't like his technique: the voice is throaty (ingolata) and sometimes sounds a baritone instead of a tenor... So too heavy voice :( sometimes the sound is schiacciato and some high notes are "broken" (rotte) and very opinable messe di voce

  • I'm impressed by some of the insightful comments here. I agree, he is swallowing all his vowels. My first reaction was "Wow, I never knew Kermit the Frog did Handel." This is something a lot of young kids do because they think it sounds more impressive. I know I did at first. Hopefully it will be trained out of him and he will learn to phrase at the same time. He has good pitch and range, but that's only half the battle. Hopefully with time and training he can sweeten it up a bit.

  • Actually, the COMFORT YE is the recitative to the aria EVERY VALLEY, but I know what you are saying about the distinction of character betwee the two.

  • i think that his vocal "i" is producted by an error of tongue position: for me he close partially the larynx with the base of the tongue, and his "e" is too dark, such as an "o"

    Sorry for my english
