In 1948/49, the American, British and French allies joined forces in a mission called "Operation Vittles," providing for West Berlin by air during the Russian Blockade in an unparalleled humanitarian undertaking known as the Berlin Airlift. One American pilot's personal experience of meeting a group of war-affected yet modest West Berlin children in 1948 inspired him to drop chocolate tied to handkerchief parachutes from his plane to sweeten the lives of Berlin's youngest. What began as a personal act of kindness grew into "Operation Little Vittles," a mission within a mission, spreading hope among West Berliners and exemplifying the newly established friendship between former enemies. OPERATION LITTLE VITTLES: THE CHOCOLATE BOMBER OF THE BERLIN AIRLIFT tells the true story of Colonel Gail Halvorsen in a first-time style of a semi-animated children's documentary. Debuting in late 2011 / early 2012. http://www.myraentertainment.com Content (c) M.Y.R.A. Entertainment LLC
