Fort Bliss Revisited

PLEASE NOTE: The dates on the pictures are wrong - I had to replace my batteries upon arrival. They were taken April 13, 2008.

An update on the condition of the Fort Bliss National Cemetery. As you watch the video, keep in mind it's been 8 months since I captured the damage done by rain in 2007 - but problems still exist.

Why do they have a picture with grass still listed at the national website? Is it because they KNOW it's terribly looking?

We need to FIX THIS! Write EVERYONE YOU KNOW and have them pay attention - before this problem spreads to more places, affecting more people.

My father, a veteran of the Korean War was buried without taps being played. The idiot teeneager R.O.T.C. bugler was nowhere to be found. Thank You veteran's administration for not giving a Damn.

My Father was brought here from CT after he passed so we could visit him in a serene, beautiful resting place. He is flipping in the grave when all he sees is UGLY rocks, dead plants, and less visitors. We can't kneel and pray. There isn't even a bench within eyes view of his grave. But we go, stand over him,pray, tell him how sorry we were for our choice of his final resting place. At least in Ct he could have felt God's green grass and enjoyed the seasons!!

I am totally speechless! My parents have rolled over in their graves, I can tell you that much. This lack of respect appears to be quite common with the director!! And for the rest of El Paso officials to sit back and allow this to continue is so beyond me. They fought for all of us!!!!!!!!!! I have searched for more stories on this, but the newspapers there care just as less as the people to blame.

Hearbreaking! Absolutely. I personally feel deceived as they have marketed the idea that the cemetery problems have been corrected. How can we allow this? How can we restore the honor those laid to rest here so deserve?
