Christianity is relationship not religion. In religion humanity seeks God, Christianity inverts the process: as a loving Father, God reaches for humanity. There are six degrees of separation between Christianity and religion. 1)God is Father. 2)Christ is Savior 3)Grace brings redemption. 4)The world is our mission field. 5)Christ gives eternal life. 6)Christ literally conquered death.

Thanks to Dr Ergun Caner of Liberty University for the crux of argument presented in this video.

Do you feel his gentle call on your life today? http://www.libertyinjesus.com/

I keep getting questions about this verse :

"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." (Jas 1:27)

I think the word religion in context might be better understood as "worship". Clearly "unstained" or "unblemished" is a word play to Jesus as the passover lamb. "To visit widows..." is something the Pharisees would do to look pious but they utterly failed at "keeping oneself spotless" or "unblemished" ( i.e. the passover lamb ). Don't we all?

Can you keep yourself unblemished ??? - Now that is a religious idea -- if so why do you need Jesus?

You cant do it - you can not keep yourself unblemished from the world; only Jesus accomplished that. I believe the "unstained" remark points directly to Jesus - who was the only one who has ever kept himself unstained by the world". James is making the same point as my video.

  • @XSC3 Agreed. YECs are indeed in their own category (of madness and denial).

  • @Karoke77 I appreciate the concession. most Christians are not Young Earth Creationists (YECs). So it would be unfair to paint us generally as espousing such beliefs.

  • @ChristJesusReigns Please do not forget to pick up food for the pet dragon sweety!!! It might rain and we need to be packed in case we will board an ark =P

  • @XSC3 Glad that we both detest? people who think humans had pet dinosaurs 3,000 years ago. THOSE type of USA Christians are really ignorant.

  • @XSC3 Good to read. It is idiots (Young Earth Creationists) who sicken me. Glad to know you are not insane as is 'ChristJesusReigns'

  • @Karoke77 how old is the earth? approximately 4.54 billion years. how old is the universe? approximately 13.75 billion years. how did we most likely get here? the big bang. I'm a Christian. next question? oh wait, you still strawmen are fun to knock over. well, good luck with that. ;)

  • @Karoke77 the majority of Christians accept evolution. don't believe me? consider this: most Christians are Catholic, the second largest group are Orthodox. both Churches accept evolution according to their official teachings. of the remaining Christians (Protestants and "other") a large number there (maineline protestants for example) accept evolution. hence, it's a minority that reject mainstream science on the issue. so logic alone dictates you're wrong.

  • @Karoke77 oh sure, don't refute what I said, simply contradict it. You've admitted you haven't studied the evidence, you hold to positions way outside the mainstream on matters of fact, and apparently think you're being clever in the process. No thanks. ;)

  • @XSC3 Wrong. Try again.

  • 'K-T Boundary'

    Look it up Christians.

    You might learn something ^__^
