It always amazes me how someone knowingly and willfully violates the laws and then complains when they get caught....No one says you can't ride like you want to...But you need to be willing to pay the consequences of doing so. If you violate the speed laws or other traffic laws, don't cry when you get a ticket. It's just the cost for doing what you want to do....

I don't get it. The Dragon's Tail is famous for bike riders (and car drivers) trying to get through it as quickly as possible, totally ignoring the fact that the speed limit is 30mph. What's wrong with cops enforcing the law?
"Oh boo hoo! I want to ride my little bikey reeeeeally fast! I should be allow to. Boo hoo!" STFU.
If you want to ride fast, get your wallet out and pay for some track time.

I live in NC and want to ride/drive the dragon really bad, but stories of friends and youtube videos make me think other wise, mainly cause of the police presence there.

I agree with there being cops at the dragon, but I don't agree with them writing bullshit tickets to any and everyone for retarded reason. There are alot of people who come there to enjoy the drive/ride, and there are alot of risk takers who cause the cops to be there in the first place. I say some (alot) of the cops are at fault, but so are some of the (alot) bikers/drivers who are reckless and ruin it for others.

i don't blame them for doing it, i mean half the video's on youtube of the dragon are bikes crashing and switching lanes doing 80 plus, im a sportbike rider and if i wanna carve the pavement i hit the track. i plan on making a trip to the gap this coming spring. hopefully i have a good time. does anyone know any other roads in the US that are fun to ride on?

This is the reason that little punks on any kind of motorcycle get tickets and deserve them. A real biker rides for fun. Racing through the Dragon just draws more attention to it. If people would calm down for a while, the police presence would diminish.
