"Grayhounds" is a cover band that performs only 50's and early 60's oldies music in Tokyo, JAPAN.

This video live performs everything by six Japanese.

  • Better than the original by far. Keeps the original flavor but takes it so much farther.

  • @Wubba2Write Really digging the modern sounds.. Never have seen really clear your face either ;)))

  • Really digging the sounds from the past, but I wish the lighting was better. Can't see the singer's face. Otherwise, great job! Thank you! :-)

  • WoW this is good, is there a fan club, Grayhounds rock..

  • @MrSkiwicz : Liked your remark re. Johnny Get Angry. See my post. I hadn't heard this song in YEARS and the orchestration of this song changed my mind about a song which I thought trite. There is some real pathos within the orchestration, the song containing lyrics which I had mistaken. 'Johnny must you be so MEEK, I had always thought/heard 'be so MEAN'. I think there's a good period teen flick movie in this song re. male/female stereotypes. The opening lyrics are particularly poignant. Thanks!

  • Love the orchestration! The kazoo part should have been replaced by a sax. This is a very interesting song for it's era. The girl is confused that Johnny is not the stereotypical male to whom she would be more comfortable being the stereotypical girl. 'Johnny I said we were through, just to see what you would do. You stood there and hung your head. Made me wish that I were dead', is indicative of a conflicted girl seeking love within the safety of conformity. There is a generation of such girls.

  • Wow, a pleasant surprise!

  • Music is much too loud for the singing.

  • She sings the first line wrong. Aren't the correct words, "Johnny I said we were through?" She is clearly singing something completely different.
