This shows NO delay with program option 6 OFF. There is no 1-2 second delay before alerted to presence of Ka band Radar. V1 is in L mode

  • why do you turn off the detector every time you shoot it with ka band?

  • The V1 will remember resent ka hits for a very short time and monitor that freq to increase response time for a second hit.

Say the V1 sniffs out a very weak ka signal on 34.7 Gigahertz (Stalker). It will monitor that frequency more often as is sweeps the rest of the Ka band.

So during my testing to see the true response times and/or delays in detection. I turned off the V1 to clear any extra monitoring of the gun I was using.

  • option 6 is a auto guard towards ka band so if you turn it off it won't check the ka band if its a treat or false (or something like that).

  • That is correct basicly. The only issue with this setting is cobra radar detectors will set off the V1 then. They leak RF and create falses for other RD's.

This option should not be used in cities. This opttion should be set if you are on a trip on open roads. This will let you detect very faint Ka threats from instant on radar when they target cars ahead or behind you.

  • @mmjurczak go to valentine 1 . com, look in to tech reports, report # 3 its all there, just print and play

  • @cyberblob55 Thats fricken sick. I didnt know the V1 did that. Wow i love my V1 even more now

  • @iphone3gJMW

This is somewhat true, however if the cop is using the radar gun at all anywhere withing 5 miles of you or more you will detect that usage with the valentine 1. The only time it's not a good idea to rely on the V1 is if you are the ONLY car for miles and miles ... then your car would be the first and only target for radar. This is why it's a good idea to follow someone about 1 mile behind that is speeding.. then the cop hits them with the radar and you get the detection

  • @cyberblob55

That is good info! I did not know the V1 could do that.

  • @mmjurczak ...push the control knob in and turn it on. All LED's will light and you will be in a "program" mode. After setting desired settings turn the unit off and on again. You will see a "P" and then the "PoP" during the startup sequence; that means it has been programmed. Go to the V1 website for downloadable instructions on what each number and letter are designated for.

  • what cops are doing now is waiting to even turn it on until they want to clock you then they turn it on, your thing beeps as your being clocked and ur fuckd

  • Interesting... how does one change these different modes? I got my V1 secondhand, so I wasn't aware of this...

  • so this will not only pick up a radar but a cop car with the radar off correct?

  • I want a radar detector that will sort of 'remind' me to keep it on the speed limit. Would the V-1 be a good option ?

  • Hey i have a V1.8 with a H.A.R.D kit for my helmet. I was thinking of mounting my radar within the ferrings of my motorbike because of the remote display in my helmet. would this effect the response time of the radar ?
