  • @andbenz1 I think it has to do with a pretty major theme in these books, which is part of why people like it & why it feels so realistic: good actions get punished, while bad ones can lead you to victory. It's a painful truth, but it's true that an honourable man surrounded by people who don't give a darn about honour is unlikely to win.

  • I love how everyone whinging over lord starks death. They ain't seen nothing yet.

  • @zevu1997 the entire series was written as a deconstruction of high fantasy, Lord Eddard Stark was an example of a typical noble fantasy hero archetype, the reader and viewer expect him to win but this is subverted with his death thus showing the series is not typical high fantasy. His death was to make sure the reader knew this. It was required.

  • @zevu1997 oh the producers who didn't actually write the series and have no idea whats to come either unless they read the books said something? Well then it MUST be true.

  • @Zippomatt4 The producers said that the first season was mainly about Lord Eddard. But of course there are other main charachters. It's just tha Eddard was the maines of the main charachters , in the first season

  • @zevu1997 pffft. I'm not mocking. I'm saying that Neds death is nothing compared to what is to come. Also no he wasn't the main character, he was one of several main characters including Jon snow, dany and tyrion.

  • @Zippomatt4 As you may know , many of us havent read the books. Lord Eddard was the main charachter in this season, so we ar whinging for that. Mabye Lord Eddard is'nt the main charachters in all the books, but for us he was the best, and don't mock us for it

  • @andbenz1 He had to die to make a point. He forgot what being a northern lord, being a direwolf, really was. He got to obsessed with his 'honor'. You find out later that a 'Northerner's Honor' is a concept the Starks took from the Night's watch and the wildings. He forgot the first rule. If your enemies won't fight by that code, then you don't either. You do whatever is necessary to win. Just like a wolf.

  • @Izziebytes They might get the most, but they will have forfeited the best to get it.

  • spartacus is that you??

  • Quite possibly my favorite scene from the first season. Michelle Fairley was utterly fantastic in it.

"And then...we will kill them ALL."

  • @Roccersc Actually GoT has many main characters. You cannot say Ned's more important than (example) Deanerys or Tyrion, that would be lying. Also if you're willing to read the books, the chapters change between the most important characters in the SOIAF and there are a lot of them.

  • Nooooo I'm watching the first season, an now I hear Ned's gonna die?! But he's like... the main character! I HATE spoilers!

  • @ReBeLLiOnOrAnGe mine is Sean Bean!

  • @Mephetify so sad but true. the people who get the most out of life rarely do so with honor and dignity but rather with ambition, manipulation, and selfishness.

  • why did ned have to die, now every time i hear this ill think of ned

  • This isn't Metallica. Sort it out.
