We got hit with 6 or 7 inches of snow, and while i was taking the bottles and cans out the morning after, i noticed this squirrel climbing somewhat erratically in and out of our gutter. It immediately noticed me and started making a noise i had never heard from a squirrel before, so i wanted to document it on video. I tried to communicate with it, which are some of the low clicking and squeaking you hear, but the squirrel makes the strange noises at 0:07, 0:31, 0:46, and 0:50. Also, the wheezing noise it was making around 0:43 leads me to believe it was nervous about my presence, which i think was reinforced by the squirrel's next decision.
apparently i need to brush up on my squirrel because this poor little thing took a huge leap of faith off the roof and into the snow, which is at least a 10 foot drop.
hope this brings a little bit of light to people on these darkest of days around the winter solstice. and if anyone is fluent in squirrel, please let me know what is going on here.
sometimes i wish i had a pet squirrel :D
