Muta-ling instead of lurkers would get you map control, allowing you to expand more and take advantage of the lack mobility of a Terran mech army.

That said, I'd have done no better. My APM is considerably worse.

Where were all the zerglings? Sure, they might not be the most effective against mech, but you had over 3k minerals towards the end and virtually no gas. Just plop down a few hatcheries and you're all set

I would have actually gone for a overlord speed/drop load up those lurkers that he has seen and try to deal some damage just like you were thinking.
