this video in particular definitely has the look of a student film from the '80's --- film students at even the larger film schools were still using equipment from the early '60's until fairly recently.

@cbeatty551 a lot of early music videos were shot with '60's/early '70's-era film cameras... see also the videos for Blue Oyster Cult - "Burnin' For You", Tom Petty - "Refugee", among many others. either that or home movie camcorders (see most of the early Rod Stewart and Rolling Stones videos, Toni Basil - "Mickey", among others). music videos didn't actually start getting budgets until about 1983 or so, and thus didn't have access to the latest and greatest equipment.

@andreweparks - It's 80's art school film. Appreciate it for what it is - the music video was relatively new when this came out.
