Etta James - At Last

well she does still have a good voice..she wont ever have the one she had back when the song was first recorded but rarely anyone ever keeps the same voice as they age..so good for her for doing a good job after 40 years! go etta!

many an hour absorbing the musical
delivery of dear Etta ..but ok most modern
'singers' woulod never have heard of her
or Big Maybelle,Tiny Topsy,Lavern Baker,
Maxine Brown,Esther Phillips, etc etc.
They all wanna be wannabees.

@stringbass its not about being a wannabe its about taking wat those before us has started and laid out and absorbing it and hope you can live up to that greatness. if that is the case everyone is a wannabe cuz ppl dress like their fav singer or actor becuz we think their great clebs r the same as us...ppl just with money and airtime

was that to me? Yes I know of many great singers...definitely Etta I didn't know about the movie to tell you the truth and just recently watched it. Beyonce does have her own style...but I prefer the classic sultry subtle tones of Etta...and other singers of that period. Beyonce needs to tone down her runs, she over does it sometimes.
