Billy Collins, former US Poet Laureate and one of America's best-selling poets, reads his poem "Walking Across the Atlantic" with animation by Mike Stolz of Manic.

The Poem - I wait for the holiday crowd to clear the beach before stepping onto the first wave. Soon I am walking across the Atlantic thinking about Spain, checking for whales, waterspouts. I feel the water holding up my shifting weight. Tonight I will sleep on its rocking surface. But for now I try to imagine what this must look like to the fish below, the bottoms of my feet appearing, disappearing.

I really like this :) I need a person to do this kind of animation for me in a doc I'm shooting. There is a poem being read in it! I will pay good money, per hour. I'm going to leave this note with others on youtube who are really good with this sort of thing. First one back to me will get the project. Are you interested?

I think the animation and the poem work together in effortless unity. The ad banner on the bottom of the screen however, degraded the whole experience. shitty ads. : )

ould this poem be about the aspirations of going somewhere over the atlantic,
and imaginign the ability to "walk" over the atlantic?
