  • @LHB2311 "rallycross is on the up" is the thing I'm most excited about, great to see the sport coming back to its former strength in the UK. I hope its rise continue!

And yes, given that Red Bull have already been involved with the GRC, I hope they start showing some support to the British Rallycross Championship as well! I hope that David Binks can make the most of his new sponsor and get some good results next year.

  • @tbtstt thats very true yes, i reckon theres a host of drivers that deserve the monster logo but there you go haha. Yes duvals start was definately jumped. if he had won the championship, we would see liam in a new light this year. good luck to him next year and all that. rallycross is on the up! not long before red bull come into play aswell i reckon haha

  • @LHB2311 Well at this time last year (and ignoring his attitude) he was arguably the most promising youngster in the 2010 ERC season, so I can see why he was a good choice for Monster. If it hadn't have been for Duval's jump start in Belgium last year there was a very good chance Doran could have taken the Championship.

Despite my feelings on Doran though, I'm just glad to see big sponsors providing backing. Best Buy are now entering the British RX and I hope more big names will follow.

  • @tbtstt i dont see what monster energy see in doran though, yer hes young. but they are in a world of aggressive racing now. personally i think monster should of gone for another driver with a more professional attitude

  • @LHB2311 And agreed on Timerzyarnov needing more recognition, he's had a couple of cracking drives this year.

  • @LHB2311 Haha! True! I think its good to see drivers acknowledging other racing series/disciplines though, especially if its something they were competiting in.

I can see why Liam got picked by Monster, as his 3rd in the ERC last year was very well deserved. Not such a good season for him this year though; he seems to have had some bad luck, but the level of competition in Supercars seems to have really stepped up. Mid season the Supercar title could have realistically been one of 6 drivers!

  • @tbtstt well its a prime example of 'you can give it, but you cant take it'. Yer the cars are hard to drive and one second to late on the brakes and your a gonner to be fair.

My thoughts have always been if you want to be champion at one discipline you have to concentrate on just that, you dont see isachsen drifting about haha. Yer monster is a brilliant brand to promote, but i think timerzyarnov should get bigger backing, hes done better this season. I dont get why they picked him, but hey ho

  • @LHB2311 Yeah, not the best image for the sport, thats for sure.

Made me laugh the fuss that was made over the Foust incident at X-Games; Liam did almost exactly the same thing to Sverre Isaschsen in the ERC last year: its rallycross, it happens!

I believe Liam has been involved with drifting for a while and I like to see drivers supporting other sports: as long as the focus remains RX. I hope his Monster support and guidance of his team can be used to better promote the sport.

  • @tbtstt It was this exact race mate, i think it was because kevin took pat out, but kevin procter is not dirty so i dont think it was intentional. and it all got out of hand slightly, and yes not very good at all!

Yes i watched the x games, but only the race where he won gold, not the part where tanner foust got his braking wrong. It wasnt very professional. I reckon he could be champion one year but he needs to concentrate on rallycross and not mess about in drifting and other stuff

  • @LHB2311 I can't remember which event it was, but I remember that happening. It was a meet that was being shown live on Motors TV as well, the cameras broadcast some of the scuffle. Not good for PR at all.

I don't know if you saw any of X-Games this year, but Liam came across quite badly on that as well. He can clearly drive, but I agree he needs his management to calm him down. He seems more chilled since he joined the Hansen run Citroen team, but he could be better!
