I dunno why, but I find the concept of the sh@ggoth pretty cool. An amorphous being that can turn either all of it or parts of some of them into various other biological things.

He said copper because the man he was lowering into the molten gold was a law enforcement officer. The slang term for a person in that profession is 'copper'.
