Read a book, preferably a history book. Liberals have been, historically, the interventionist party both domestically and abroad. Why don't YOU change your party affiliation to Democrat since you seem to be more in line with them?

* Neoconservatism (which is the political philosophy that you most probably agree with) stemmed from Trotskyism through the progressive movement and interventionists like Wilson. They've been creeping their way through both parties, controlling the republican now.

Notice the differences in the responses from the two politicians:

Giuliani responds to Ron Paul's comments with an air of incredulity and by using vague, generalized nationalistic statements designed to illicit emotional "patriotistic" feelings from the audience.

Ron Paul responds to Giuliani's comments by giving a reasoned opinion backed by a historical analysis of foreign policy and principles outlined by the Founding Fathers of this country.

Ron Paul isn't saying the US isn't a great country, he's saying that ever since World War II ended the US has been royaly fucking up when it comes to foreign policy. A lot of bad decisions have come back to bite us in the ass.
