In the early years in American history Trail Blazers that settled much of the treacherous terrain of the North American continent had to occasionally make their way across a river. One such river is the Delaware Water Gap. At times it floods up to 40 feet higher than it is featured in this video. Of course today we have the convenience of a walkway over the river but in the past they had to rely on horses, carts, rafts, and their own two feet.
Exactly right, that was Portland PA and Columbia NJ, I saw some pics of the floods around the area, water up to the top of store signs and covering cars, crazy stuff.

Nothing really, it went under the road and was way too dark for the camera to pick up anything. It is used to cyphon some of the water from the river when it over flows up to the town.
