  • Dear Charlie, My new FTM son just referred me to your blog here. This is the second of your videos I have watched. As the mother of a fresh son (known since January 2009), I must say that your letter was beautiful, articulate, sensitive, sensible and just plain well-said in general. It sounds like you know what you are doing and it is the right thing for you. I feel the same about my new son... same child I have always loved, only now happier and more content. Who'd a thunk? God bless you!

  • This is beautiful, Charlie!

  • I really am happy that people like your self are able to make these videos because it will help me in the future when I am ready to come out. :D

  • Made me teary. :) Your parents should be proud of you.

  • Great letter. May I use some of those phrases when (and if) I ever tell my parents?

  • "At the same time, I would not change my path of who I am. This process has given me the opportunity to pursue a path of self love and acceptance." Beautifully put.

  • This is a wonderful letter Charlie. Well thought through, informative and empathetic of your parents while still true to yourself. Our daughter is transgendered & her coming out was initially very difficult for me. We knew nothing about what being trans did, didn't or could mean. We're well past that now. I've watched much of your vlog & you are an incredible person, well on your way in this world & I admire you for your courage in so many ways. Thanks for sharing this.

    Michelle

  • That was incredible man. It brought tears to my eyes though I'm not quite sure why - maybe how it was how it was written, the hopefulness it provide, the fact the it made me realize that I'll have to put myself out there like you have very soon, or all of the above. Whatever it was, it was a great video.
