Hi Saturn2888,
That's right. The higher your quality score, the less you have to pay for the same position for the same keyword. It's Google's algorithm to keep the sponsored listings relevant and the quality of these listings high. When I have some time, I will write an article or make a video to explain to you how the actual algorithm works. It can't be explained in a small paragraph.
