A muggle is the term in Harry Potter in which to describe humans that are not born into magical families. So thus since Twilight is element of magic then opposite is muggle.

LOL did you notice that Twilight Sparkle when the last used the elements, her eyes went pupil-less and glowed like Aang from avatar the last air bender. (It's an anime that was once on TV when i was little)

OBVIOUSLY they founded Equestria (which was before celestia and luna were there). And then Discord showed up and THEN luna and celestia stood up to him. So the timeline is really quite clear. :D
