@ddbarnes11 For me it's the opposite, I think most guitarists focus on the fretting hand too much.

Kid don't worry about your right hand, your rythym will come naturally, focus on your left hand so you will not have to watch it when your playing which will screw you up. You need to feel the strings. I was instructed by an old black man which taught me blues, and told me this technique which helped a lot.
