As Americans become frustrated with the US economy, more and more people are getting creative with their money, like Larry Chang and Nick Williams, who make their own currency.

  • The federal reserve is not federal and there are no reserves

  • Brilliant. Decentralisation of a currency supply and local barter systems, that's what we need along with gold standard. End the FED!

Perhaps but color and design are not the only methods of for validating authenticity.

Maybe they do something else which was not televised how would you know?

  • Wish my area had the guts to do this.

  • Since local money is not real ( just like the "real" money ) but because it's local and has no value as money but as a means of exchange between local people trading with each other in goods and services it is strengthening the community and it's people.

I am a plumber, jewelry maker, know German and Greek, know a few things about computers and willing to get my hands dirty doing a manual job.

My goods and services I can then trade against other peoples goods and services

  • Money printed on printer? Very easy for faking.

  • What gives the US dollar currency its value? It's simply your acceptance of it as the currency.

  • He is. I think I know him. I think he's from Jamaica.

  • Very interesting, however, I can't see what gives this "town" currency VALUE.

  • "I just spent 50 local Toronto dollars two days ago."

Jct: I tried to get the multi-millionaire Dragons to make the same profit you did! Stay tuned to find out if they had the brains you've shown.

  • Jct: Yes, Tally Sticks were one of the best non-counterfeitable Government currencies ever cut. From my poembank.htm

The record most successful case was in the British Isle,

Where "Tallies," sticks of money, left King Henry I with smile.

Accountants in the Treasury would split the stick in two,

One half would be the money and the other half its due.

A tally worth a pound of gold to pay the King's expense,

The other half amounted to taxation that made sense.

  • Jct: Zeitgeist Addendum were great in getting to the first step in the derivation of the Miracle Equation. Remember how they pointed out that they only printed the Principal P but everyone owed PRincipal plus Interest P+I so the ratio who survived were P/(P+I). They did not work out the ratio for the remainder who get knocked out of the game: I/(P+I) and get their collateral confiscated resulting in the same money chasing less goods, Shift B Inflation.
