A visit now to the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway whilst they were running their Blue Timetable, this meant two engines in steam and seven trains during the day.

Locos in service were:

- Ex-GWR Beyer Peacock 0-6-0T no.823 'Countess'
- Ex-GWR Beyer Peacock 0-6-0T no.822 'The Earl'

Shots included in the video are:

- 'Countess' arriving at Cyfronydd Station from Llanfair Caereinion to pass with 'The Earl' who arrives soon after.
- 'Countess' then departs for Welshpool whilst 'The Earl' departs for Llanfair Caereinion.
- On the same train 'Countess' is seen after departing Castle Caereinion approaching one of the many road crossings on route to Welshpool, the driver giving us a nice whistle.
- 'Countess' is seen once again, arriving into Welshpool Raven Square Station, then backing off her train to take on water after which she heads off to rejoin her train.
- 'Countess' is later seen after passing Sylfaen Station climbing the gradient up to the road crossing we saw earlier.
- 'The Earl' is seen heading in the opposite direction across the road crossing, then arriving into Welshpool Raven Square passing W.G.Bagnall 0-4-4-0T no.6 'Monarch' as she rolls in.
- 'The Earl' seen once again at the road crossing making noise as she climbs the gradient.

  • @siobhan104 thank you Tim =) Still more videos to come such as, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, Fairbourne and Llanberris Lake Railway. It certainly is an experience to be able to stand right next to a running loco, especially when they're climbing because they sound fantastic.

  • How cool is that to be able to stand on the verandahs of the coaches? Lovely scenery too. Thanks for sharing your August with us. Really enjoyed it......Tim.
