Justification is going to depend on culture. For example we see a desire for martyrdom (a form of suicide) historically in Roman Catholicism and among some contemporary Muslims. These "suicides" are valid within their cultural context but ridiculous and grotesque outside of it.

Most christians are committing suicide every day. They waste their time and life with rituals and beliefs that mean absolutely nothing.To go through life with such childish restricting beliefs is nothing short of suicide. To be alive and never have lived. To deny yourself pleasures, to feel worthless, and guilty all the time, because you are not worthy of some pie in the sky is to waste what could have been a wonderful life. Atheist are free thinkers, and very happy. We live life to the fullest.
