Sweng playing 'Road to Poynton' (composed by Rob Harbron) at Umefolk 2010

Sweng are traditional music quartet playing music from England and Sweden on three fiddles and a bass drone mandola.

From the UK: Emily Askew (Askew Sisters) & Rowan Rheingans (Fidola, Lady Maisery) and from Sweden: Marit Fält (Fidola, Kate in the Kettle) & Ida Meidell Blylod (Ida & the Nicks).

Sweng explores the commonalities, differences and musicial possibilities of traditional music which has travelled from England and Scotland over the sea to Scandinavia and back again for centuries.
