iMac 24" Horizontal Lines (How to solve this?)

This is the problem i have on my late 2006 iMac 24", the memory is upgraded from 2gb to 4gb.. could that be the problem.. ? Sometimes it freezes up and needs to be forced to restart on the power button, and sometimes it looks totaly wierd on the screen.. Does anyone know how to find a solution on this problem.. need help fast cus i am using this damn computer every day.

Just go to a computer repairer and see what they say. My guess would be a burnt out graphics/video card.

@n0rion7; Yes i will call them tomarrow and see what they say, i belive it will cost so much to repair that its not worth it.... i dont know if a burnt out graphics card could cause the computer to shout down and/or freeze..just like that.. ?

its a hardware problem on your lcd screen. You need to replace the screen, or you can just upgrade to the new 2011 imac, which i recommend considering your imac is now 4 years

Something similar happened to my laptop because of the graphics/video card, but I'm not sure. There's several things that can cause it. Good luck anyways :)
