In this video,
Mahalo math expert Julie Clark shows you the correct order of operations for solving math problems.

Trick to Remember
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The correct order of operations for solving math problems with more than one function are parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, as well as addition and subtraction. You can remember this through the acrostic "Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally." Each of the first letters of that phrase correspond to the first letter of the operation you are supposed to do next. Think of the order of operations like a video game. You can't move on to the next level until you have completed everything on the current level.

Breakfast comes first, and breakfast would be the parentheses and exponents.

After breakfast is lunch which would be the multiplication and division

Finally, you have dinner, which is the addition and subtracting.
