Twenty Portland area youth took advantage of a first-ever Portland Parks and Recreation summer camp focused on mountain biking skills, trail stewardship, teamwork, and exercise. This video is a close up look at the four-day camp with interviews from the youth riders, their instructors and guides.
Northwest Trails Alliance (a chapter of the International Mountain Bicycle Association http://nwta.org ) helped make the camp possible by providing volunteers, instructors, coordination, grant writing and other funding.
The camp would not have been possible without several other key partners including the Bicycle Transportation Alliance, Dirt Dojo, the Lumberyard Indoor Bicycle Park, Portland Audubon Society, Treadwerks, Bureau of Land Management, AND backing from the IMBA HucknRoll grant and the Bike Gallery.
