That's only true for non-stick pans made with Teflon. Most other non-stick pans are made using other methods that can stand up to metal utensils.

I can't beleive he would advise anyone to use a metal whisk in a non stick skillet. He can get away with it because he gets a new set of cookware for every episode. You might not notice any damage after the first use, but you're killing your pan!
