maybe, since Knopfler is actually making fun of the guy who said it. The guy moving refrigerators and color TVs calls the rocker in the video "that little faggot" because he is jealous of him: "that little faggot" got his own jet airplane, "that little faggot" he's a millionaire.  See? The guy in the video is probably not even gay, just a rocker with an earring and makeup and long hair. He's trying to insult the guy by saying "that little faggot" but he's really jealous. Brilliant lyric.
