Scientology Protester Arrested - St. Louis Anonymous; June 13, 2009

A protester was arrested while on the public sidewalk, during our monthly protest against Scientology.

We have had a good relationship with the local police, and are not drawing any conclusions about the arrest at this time. Our liaison to the police is already handling the matter.

As a personal note: I have long thought the University City police do an excellent job, and this incident does not by itself affect my favorable opinion of them. In protest-related situations and elsewhere, I have always found them to be fair and courteous. I support Ace, I support the police. I ask we keep an open mind about this situation as it unfolds.

From the WWP thread, ace was originally considering a lawyer, but I think since the judge dropped all charges, he decided to leave it at that and keep us on good terms with the city.

Whats the media make of this? Have they been contacted? This is not a unique event. I think(though its probably already happening) anons should contact the media sources with thte various abuses by in pocket police officers.

Did you see the way he handed over his ID when asked and politley cooperated when the cop arrested him? That bit was hard core! I was scared!

I can sleep easy at night knowing people like him are keeping us safe from these dangerous psycos!

Total violation of his rights! Public sidewalk and street! Nobody owns them except for the taxpayers! Same thing with the police, our taxes pay their wages! The thought police! Police have to use "fair game" to get to clear, too. Next time, make sure you have a preparation of frozen alcohol/glycol to defend against Thetan attacks. Stores should start carrying it next to the pepper spray.
