@Mossa98 Even the old one could, the problem still is the distance. Only the Irbis-E is powerful enough to spot the F35 outside the NEZ and only FA18E/F and Su27/35 are big enough to carry them. That being said... noone can spot a modern fighter by radar without giving away their own position (due to sensors) and when it comes to heat Gripen is extremely stealthy whilst F35 gets beaten by the Flankers...

So F35 is great in _one_ aspect, F22, Gripen, EF2000, Su35, Rafail etc are great in most.

How come no one mentions Gripen's STOL capability? I think that's an awesome ability, especially for operations outside the national border, such as Afghanistan, Iraq and so on where there's no abundance in Air strips. ;)
