Zakir Naik Doesn't Understand Atheism

Zakir Naik is an Islamic apologist who travels around India and abroad spewing medieval propagandist arguments in support of his rationally indefensible Islamic beliefs. It doesn't help that he seems incapable of understanding what Atheism means, but so does his audience, which helps him keep them cheering for Team Islam. Naik has made an art of deliberately presenting straw-man arguments to divert attention from the incoherent logic of his religious apologetics.

What nonsense. Typical of Hindus, you are redefining well-established words to suit your own ends. Atheism is a well-defined concept. It is non-belief in the supernatural god. Your Ram and Krishna, along with Zeus, Jesus, Allah and all the rest. Most of us atheists do believe in reason, science and rational thinking. The soul is a superstitious idea. Vedanta is stone age ideas that Hindu nationalists cling to and claim as science in desperate need for validation in the modern age.

You say your an atheist, whereas in the Quran it clearly talks about science of matters such as the development of a baby in a mothers womb and more, 1400 years ago, which scientist have only discovered in recent times way after the revelation. Naik conveniently ignores the 3rd and essential part of the shahada which is "I proclaim that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah"

Ask any Imam or Mullah whether one may convert to Islam by taking the first 2 parts of the shahada and omitting the 3rd part. Naik is deliberately trying to mislead the audience into believing that becoming a muslim is as simple as believing in Allah. No. If you dont believe in Muhammad, you can NOT become a muslim. Islam is a cult centred around Muhammad.

While I'm against any religious exaggerations, mixing it with politics and hyper-nationalism, I'm NOT against people peacefully practicing & celebrating their religion and culture. Mixing yoga with religious chants is no issue with me, as long as they don't force it on others and don't blow up others in its name.

As for ramdev's such claims - I agree with you - it's naive of him to claim anything like that. Still, I wouldn't put him in same list as other totally 'dhongi' babas like sai baba etc.

And I have myself benefited from these ancient sciences like millions of others (including people from the advanced, developed, highly educated world). Yoga and Ayurveda are not same as religion - they are a science (even if not proper science by modern standards) which do help and benefit people's health.

Vedas speak of Consciousness transforming energy to matter and dissolving matter back to energy. This is Einstein's Mass energy equivalence. @Nirmuktavideos Those Ram/Krishna etc come from Puranas and their believers are Dualists or Dvaitas. They are ritualists and worship personal Gods. Though they never accept it, but their belief has NO connection with the ancient Vedic Literature. Their faith stem from Puranas and not Vedas. Vedas speak of non-corporeal infinite consciousness called Brahman. And Vedic literature, along with Buddhism, is completely in agreement with modern science including Evolution, Mass energy equivalence etc.

In West, ultimate Aim of a man is to reach heaven, in Dharmic religions, ultimate aim is Liberation or Supreme Consciousness. This is what Advaita Vedanta is. Advaita don't believe in forms, names, rituals, dogmas etc. They believe in attainment of Supreme consciousness through meditation or Karma. Every being is equally infinite & divine, one just need to realize that DIVINITY WITHIN
