@MakeupSkinHealth But why does she squeeze her chords so much today? She shreds the notes nowadays... IWKWLI performances for e.g. it's a pain to produce a simple chest note and you can see it clearly on her face. I think she developed a complex after the whitney duet. She wanted that thick mid-chest-register and she tries to do that.. Her mid-register notes are always forced nowadays... If only she'd sing in what she's comfortable with...

Can I just say..Please know this is Luther Vandross. I've seen a few comments that confuse him with Mariah's back-up singer Trey Lorenz. Trey is talented but Luther was a well known solo artist that passed well before his time and left a lot of great music. God Bless!

@RanjitMorey She gravitated more towards hip hop and pop and that's when this technique and style changed. The voice is still there...but she doesn't control her technique as intricately. I still think she can give a great performance but this dead on pitch and control is a bit altered today. Some believe it's aging vocal chords or wear and tare. She has said that she got a bit tired of the ballads. Maybe a mix of all things.

She hasn't resonated so much in years. Technique. It's all about technique. She has lost her touch. Either that or she concentrates on something else while performing.
