Yes, you type in quotations to search for your keywords. You're looking for between 800 and 2,500 results to see whether you want to promote that keyword. This method just gets you up there in the search engines so when someone actually does search WITHOUT QUOTES you're on the front page. Only use google, forget overture, most ppl search on google anyhow.

I have seen a method of search for
intitle: "your search term"
Divided that by 100 and that is the number of articles to write for that keyword.
Given of course you will need to submit this to hundreds of directories.
Checked out "tiffany dow's" youtube channel.

I have an email from Travis the original "Bum Marketer" explaining this.
No idea how to get this to you!

OK, good question, that means your really interested in the whole bum marketing method thing. I don't know if this is an accurate answer to you question, but I think people don't usually put quotation marks when they search for something in the web, so I think the thing is you have to change the phrase that you had planned to use, and there is this software that you have to buy intended for that purpose, to hit the most uncommon searches in the web, it's free word tracker tool.

build a website with quality (yeah that's hard)

What bum Marketer's don't teach is LInk building and anchor linking. Once you learn how to use these.. searches with 80 million results will be doable. You only need authority which comes in age of domain, Page rank, Links to domain, Relevancy and such.

I'm sure you've found the answer now but I'll post anyway, The whole point of using quotes if to see how much competition your up against, if you have a 4 word keyword phrase, and are targeting that phrase, google wants to list you up top for that phrase because when someone searches it, because it should be relevant to want there looking for.

Mike by placing a phrase in Quotes you eliminate all other returns from Google. If you take a keyword phrase such as knitting every return will include the word knitting, easy enough. Part 1
