The War Wagon (USA 1967)
Directed by Burt Kennedy
Soundtrack by Dimitri Tiomkin
John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, Chuck Roberson
and young Bruce Dern in a memorable scene.
Note about Chuck Roberson:
His close physical resemblance to John Wayne led to nearly 30 years as Wayne's stunt double. He often played small roles and stunted in other roles in the same film, which frequently resulted in his "shooting" himself once the picture was cut together. He graduated to larger supporting roles in westerns for Wayne and John Ford, and to a parallel career as a second-unit director.
In 1979 he published an autobiography entitled "The Fall Guy: 30 Years as the Duke's Double".
The War Wagon is a 1967 western Technicolor film starring John Wayne, released by Universal Pictures, directed by Burt Kennedy, and adapted by Clair Huffaker from his own novel. The film, which featured Wayne in one of his few roles as technically a "bad guy," received generally positive reviews.

Cowboys in them days (1967) still had sparkling white teeth. In more recent films where cowboys of other grizzly characters are depicted, they'd probably have their teeth painted
