On 24 October, the International Day of Climate Action, people in 181 countries came together to speak with one voice on the most urgent issue of our times: the climate crisis. http://350.org

On the most widespread day of environmental action in the planet's history, supporters joined together to call for 350 -- the most important number in the world. This video shows the rally in New York City's iconic Times Square, where pictures from all over the earth were displayed on the giant screens.

350 ppm (parts per million) is the safety level for the global warming gas Carbon Dioxide in the planet's atmosphere. Since we're already at 397 and rising, 350 shows that we're dealing with an immediate threat and must take dramatic action to rise to the challenge.

On Oct 24, at over 5200 events around the world, people gathered to call for strong action and bold leadership on the climate crisis. By the days end, it was clear: people of all kinds in just about every place on earth are calling for a fair, ambitious, and binding global climate treaty that gets us to 350 as fast as possible.

  • this is a diabolic deception

  • Since 1812, the CO2 concentration in northern hemispheric air has fluctuated exhibiting three high level maxima around 1825, 1857 and 1942 the latter showing more than 400 ppm. Between 1857 and 1958, the Pettenkofer process was the standard analytical method for determining atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, and usually achieved an accuracy better than 3%. These determinations were made by several scientists of Nobel Prize level distinction.
