in realtions to this laptop i have one myself much used for gaming web surfing all i can say is SICK, AWESOME, STUNNING it is the best u can find oohrah!

Unfortunately I missed the Upgrade by 1 month, however I got a Free copy of Windows 7 through my school because I am an IT student. I completely reformatted and installed windows 7 its running extremely smooth.

The tick tick issue is easy to solve by removing the stupid quick launch or just stopping it from starting up. It still lets you turn the volume up and down just without the tick tick tick and the stupid on screen display which minimizes games. As far as the other issue you been having no, absolutely not please explain in more detail this does not sound right.
