Great machine CassetteMaster. I use to have a 1440 which is the stereo version of this machine. Today I own a beautiful 1580 which you have seen here on youtube. I also have a nice working 1515-4 stereo unit. These are great little machines and fun to work on. I also had the felt problem when I purchased the 1580. I had a donor unit so I swapped the felt from that machine to fix my current one. Great presentation!! happy reelin!!!

Interesting mechanical part! I like the speed change on it,and how the counter belt is mounted! I enjoyed both videos, both deserve 5/5,like always..:-)

I redid a T1550 once. They usually need a good cleaning, those speed wheels often stick and jam, especially if it was in a smoker's place. Once you figure them out, Wollensak's are not bad to work on. But I go for three motor RtRs now, much better all ther way around.
btw, I had same problem with Sony TC630 motor run cap, it overheated. So I put a cop from a junked Panasonic and made it a PanaSony 630! ;)

Really high quality mechanics! Looks really reliable!
It's a masterpice "made to last"!. Thank you for the video. I would like to see that machine working with a tape. Is it possible?.

I have another video of it operating, it's a wonderful machine.

Very Cool!
The Wollensak's that I have used in the past would get quite warm! Looking at all of the work that motor needs to do I can see why now.
Didn't the motor's have a fan at the bottom of it?

Yup, there's a fan on the bottom of it! With a vent for ventilation.
