Spending prolonged the great depression for 10 years. Government intervention made the depression much worse than it should have been, you need to look at the boom created before the depression by the Federal Reserve. Obama voted for Bush Patriot Act which is considered to be the single worst legislation in regards to OUR civil liberties. Which suspends due process and habeas corpus. Allows illegal warrant less search and seizure of anyone. He is expanding the undeclared war in to pakistan also

Well, Israel has been forced to take a more moderate stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a whole, and is still feeling that pressure because Netanyahu is still getting a lot of criticism for not being moderate enough.
But yeah, the sentiment you express is understandable and I am anxious for some more action as well.

How has he infringed on our liberties?
And his spending has a purpose: stimulus, it's what got us out of the Great Depression with the New Deal. Spend to earn. Our economic crisis was caused by greed, gambling, and lack of oversight. If the government takes over a company that gives away its bailout money to employees, then I trust the government more with that company than the greedy bastards who got us here in the first place.

Sorry, talk is cheap...and so far he's nothing but talk. Granted, what he's says is terribly appealing,but there's little to no action behind it.
