Every day, governments all over the world violate the fundamental human rights of millions of women. The Center for Reproductive Rights fights on the front lines every day to beat back these assaults -- and Meryl Streep, Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, Billy Crudup, Audra McDonald, and many more are standing beside us in this call to action in the global battle for reproductive freedom.

It is not a fundamental right to kill an innocent child.

One out of every two abortions is the destruction of a female human being. How does this not "violate the fundamental human rights of millions of women"?

Hey I'm all for helping the women in lesser countries get proper healthcare and prenatal care, what I'm not for is using these women and their tragedies to further your abortion agenda. Kinda hypocritical that you want women's rights yet many unborn baby girls will never have their rights because you allow their death due to abortion. If women get rights then so do the unborn baby girls. I'm for choice with rape btw, not for choice when you consented to the sex.

When i hear pro-choice i hear "I need a way to help me justify and aleviate this crippling feeling of remorse and wrong doing." Just like it's easier to be an athiest because it wont punish you for any moral laws you decide to break.

right there with you. i think we need to extend this right to men. if a man wants to opt out of child support and any legal responsibilities while the child is still an embryo then that should be his right. her decision to carry should be her decision but in turn it should also be her responsibility. men should not be forced to work to support kids they dont want. men should be forced to work themselves into an early grave that should be a choice 100%

i agree and men shouldnt have to pay child support for kids they dont want. im right with you sister in the solidarity. we shouldnt force women to use there body to bring a child into this world and at the same time we shouldnt force men to do slave labor to support the womens decision to carry a baby a mand doesnt want. equal reproductive rights. lets have it

If someone is pregnant, then they have reproduced already. Rhetoric aside, that's a biological fact according to every embryology textbook, and a healthy consequence of chosen action. It has nothing to do with what someone else says, it's a fact. It's another argument to say then that one should be able to kill another human being, as long as it's done in private. MYOB isn't what we tell children, it's what children tell us when they know they're doing something wrong.

what pro lifers don't understand, is that I will choose when I will reproduce. you won't choose for me, regardless of the circumstances. much like we have to tell children sometimes. MYOB. mind your own business.

I used to say I would never choose abortion for myself yet I did take my best friend to a clinic to abort her child - a decision that haunts me still. Time has changed my view. Why can't women support each other through pregnancy rather than "the right to choose?" Even a rape victim carries life inside her. None of this is the fault of the baby so could that baby have a chance at life? Could the rape victim get support through her pregnancy? Yrs later would she feel good knowing she chose life?

Ekas, yes, an unplanned pregnancy can be a real shock. Would a viable alternative be to carry the child and give him/her up for adoption? It may be tough to know you have a child out there but could you look at it differently? Instead of taking - you chose giving? The gift of life to the baby and the gift of a baby to a couple who so desperately want children but can't? Pretend it is 10 yrs after abortion/adoption or keeping the baby, which alternative gives you more joy? Which hurts the most?
