I address an issue that is very important to me. The feeling that Americans have towards ex-Felons/Ex-Convicts.
Please leave your response to this video. Thanks!

Also, Please refer to this video titled "Is There Life After A Felony" http://youtu.be/R15cVues2dY
It's an actual news story.

  • Please forgive the shitty opening sequence. LOL! Sounds like I was rambling on in the beginning.

  • Most people hear "jail" and that's it which is a bit unfair. Do I think people who just went to jail should have their right to vote revoked? No or at least not as a blanket. Maybe in some cases like pedophilia or murder because of the seriousness of the crime. However just to punish all people who have been in jail like that seems a bit off balance.

  • So the government decided that you must pay for your crime - In you go! Serve your time, pay your restitution, and become branded "FELON" indefinitely. It's a label; one which carries serious weight. Just don't let that heavyweight title weigh you down!

  • I can't speak for anybody but myself, but I feel like I would judge based on the person and what they did. If they had a history of violent/ psychotic behavior, then committed a horrid crime, I don't think I'd care how much time they spent in prison. I'd always be leery of them. But if they never had a history of anything bad, and it wasn't a serious crime, I think I'd be able to overlook it after they served their sentence and proved that they could go back to a normal life.

  • You paid for your crime it should be over with when the court system says its over with. (Upon completion of a sentence or whatever.) But... it would almost be more merciful to just have your life ended than to begin the uphill climb towards trying to fix your shit after something like that. It's fucking frustrating.

  • I'm not sure about death penalty... but I think that we could definitely use a reform based on the way our flawed DoC system works. Just because someone HAS been convicted of a felony (Ranging from drug charges to murder/rape) has nothing to do with their work ethic. Discrimination for jobs against these people is what causes the chain that happens. You get out, owe a shit ton of fines... can't find a job.. what the hell are you supposed to do? It's ridiculous.
