After a traumatic fall onto her head Alexis came into us with a bronchial cough, irritability, vomiting, loss of appetite, a sore throat, runny nose and very high temperature. Watch her immediate recovery in just one visit and full recovery only 5 days later

  • It is staggering that we still believe in such things as chiropractic. There is no evidence that chiropractic treatment is beneficial for anything other than lower back pain. There is also no scientific evidence to support the idea that most illness is caused by misalignment of the spine. (Google "chiropractic nhs"). Fields of treatment that are proven by evidence are added to the fold of modern medicine. Chiropractic has not, because its claims are not supported by evidence.

  • @whitedragon101 Chiropractic practiced properly is not a 'belief', it is a science, philosophy and art. Evidence to support the central tenants of Chiropractic is every where from modern biology, functional neurology, quantum physics and biochemistry to clinical trials if you look. Socrates, the father of medicine is stated as saying "look to the spine for all cause of disease" it's time medicine had a look. These posts are to educate, not to separate. "Us against them" doesn't help sick people.

  • Head trauma + Vomitting = brain injury was she brought to an ER first?

  • @DoNotForgetToBreathe Yes.. ER staff were confused. Thats when the parents brought her in for assessment. Head trauma + vomiting can obviously = brain injury but it can also, and does often = spinal or occipital subluxation with related nerve irritation. We're trained to distinguish between the two and refer when any type of pathology is suspected. Thanks, Dr Ian

  • I am a CA working for a chiropractor in Ireland and was looking for great videos to share with our patients about great work with children and I thought the video was amazing. My only problem was the caption Different child in one adjustment. Because sometimes it takes more than one adjustment but otherwise great job.

  • @kitkatpoof Hi there, thank you for your comment. Im not sure if we answered you but yes I totally agree, sometimes the the adjustment requires a number of corrections over time to achieve. In this case however, as does happen often; the dramatic change in symptoms came following just one correction. Thanks again,

    Ian

  • @VentriloServer Please explain to me how a "real doctor" would have handled this problem better or with more professionalism?

  • This is depressing...the mother should have spent her money to go to a real doctor for this problem.

  • @chiroexcellence There is no "Us against them" there is only evidence and proof. As I said in my previous post look to the NHS website where it states : "There is also no scientific evidence to support the idea that most illness is caused by misalignment of the spine." There is a misconception that Chiropractic is a registered medical profession like MD or Physiotherapist, it is not, simply because it does not operate according to the scientific method of theory + evidence= approved treatment.

  • However, from a students perspective, the process of the analysis would be very helpful. Definitely more helpful than the process of the actual adjustment. I find myself struggling in situations with pediatric patients. The adjustment is the easy part if your analysis allows you the certainty to adjust with purpose.

  • I think it is extremely helpful to watch a patient interaction in a "real" clinical setting. The history is so important and yet also seems very under-emphasized in most teaching settings.
